You can use the Netgear Installation Assistant for Netgear WiFi range extender setup. Here’s how to setup Netgear extender via the installation assistant:
Connect your home router to the extender.
Launch a web browser on any device.
The Netgear installation assistant displays.
Follow the prompts to connect your extender to your existing WiFi network Netgear_ext SSID.
Unplug the extender and move it to a new location about halfway between your router and the area with a poor WiFi signal.
Plug the extender into an electrical outlet.
If the Router LED doesn’t light amber or green, plug the extender into an outlet closer to the router and try again.
Reconnect your computer or mobile device to the new extender WiFi network.
Test the new extended WiFi range by moving your computer or mobile device to the area with a poor router WiFi signal.
Plug the extender into an electrical outlet and wait for the Power LED to light green.

Access Extender Settings
After Netgear range extender setup, you can log in to the extender to view or change the extender’s settings.
1. Launch a web browser from a computer or mobile device. When you are connected to the extender, the Device Link LED lights.
2. Log in to your extender:
If your extender and router use different WiFi network names (SSIDs), visit www.mywifiext.net.

Plug it into a wall socket. An LED light will display which signifies the extender is turned on.
Connect it to your existing router either using the WPS button or web browser setup.
To connect with WPS or WiFi Protected Setup, you just need to press the WPS button on your extender and router.
If you want to use the web browser setup, you need a PC or laptop having a reliable web browser installed on it.
Access the web browser and go to web interface. If you are unable to connect to the web URL, get immediate help from our experts.
Enter the username and password and click on the Log In button.
After that, the new extender setup page displays.
Select the mode for your Netgear range extender setup.
Choose a WiFi network to extend and click on the Next button.
Repeat the same steps if your extender has dual-band functionality.
Now, you will see the extended network name Netgear_ext (SSID) in the network list on your device.

Press Enter or click Search.
The login page displays.
Enter your username and password.

Note: If your router uses WEP security, enter its network name Netgear_ext (SSID) and password when prompted.
Reconnect your WiFi devices to the extender.
